    We can in many cases repair damaged or old mounts. For old skin mounts, the best thing to do is replace it with a Replica. But if desired, we can often repair them. They just may not last a lifetime. Replicas that have been damaged can also usually be repaired. The best thing to do is to call us or send us some pictures. By seeing some pictures we can often do a quote on the repairs. Below are some example pictures of a skin mount that has deteriorated and then been repaired by Fish Tail Gallery. I replaced the fins with replica fins, added a new hand painted eye, sculpted a new mouth and repaired the head. Then completely repainted the fish and sealed it. Restoration can be expensive, and at times it can be economical to simply replace the piece with a new replica.
